Magma, a company in COMSA EMTE’s Environmental business line, is collaborating in a campaign in support of Tomás F. Esteve, a seven-year old boy from the town of Puçol (in Valencia, Spain) affected by cerebral palsy. Town councils, companies and private individuals are supporting this initiative for raising funds to put towards the cost of a treatment he needs in Philadelphia (United States) that has helped Tomás experience a significant improvement.
The campaign involves collecting bottle caps in sporting and charity events. Magma has been collaborating since last year in the process of collecting, storing and appraising the value of the caps and actively contributes to the spreading word of this initiative among the Valencian public. The company has set up a network of collection points in the capital and nearby towns and has also set up stands in several sporting events.
As a result, Magma is collecting about 6 tonnes of bottle caps each quarter. The revenue obtained is donated in full to Tomás’s family to help pay for the treatment, which requires travelling to the United States every six months.
