The Arenys de Mar City Council has extended the concession contract of the municipal car park with COMSA EMTE Aparcamientos. The agreement contemplates the extension of blue zone places in the high part of Riera Pare Fita and a change in the tariff system of the Xifré car park.
The extension consists in the creation of 127 new blue zone places in the high part of Riera Pare Fita and the incorporation into the contract of 215 parking places for residents: 90 new places located in the high part of Riera Pare Fita and 125 regulated places situated in the Puerto de Arenys de Mar road. Similarly, the duration of the concession of regulated road parking has been extended from the current 25 years to 32 years.
The new tariff system aims to promote the use of the Xifré underground car park and leave blue zone parking places free for shoppers. To achieve this, discounts will be given for long term parking (above one hour) in the underground car park and there will be penalties for parking in the blue zone.
