Egatel, the COMSA EMTE group company specialising in digital broadcasting systems, has been awarded by APD the contract for the supply, installation and commissioning of 10 new high power transmission centres in Kenya. This is the company’s first contract in the African country.
The company will supply state-of-the-art transmitters from the WHET (Wideband Transmitters High Efficiency) series which are characterised by reduced energy consumption and savings in operating costs. The inspections and pilot testing of the equipment are scheduled for late November, to be followed by distribution to the various centres that will be the final destination of the transmitters.
With this contract, Egatel positions itself as a supplier of DTT transmitters in the process of migrating to digital television that is currently under way in Kenya.
