COMSA, in consortium with Grupo Moyua, has comissioned to Euskal Trenbide Sarea (ETS) the new Hendaia station, whose construction work has doubled the useful surface of the terminal with a new plant. The building, which has grown from 84 to 198 meters, houses a large lobby for users, thus improving its accessibility. Likewise, the platform has been expanded and the tracks have been doubled in the last section.
Prior to the start of work on the new station, COMSA demolished the old terminal and built a temporary one that has been in use for 9 months to serve passengers.
The entry into service of the new Euskotren station in Hendaia also allows the reestablishment of cross-border railway communications after the Covid-19 pandemic.
