07/10/2019 – On the 2nd of September, the first hole-through of the tunnel of the Topo branch line in San Sebastián took place along the Lugaritz-Miraconcha section. It’s an important milestone in the progress of the work to take the metro line to the San Sebastián neighbourhoods of Antiguo and Centro-La Concha, and which will turn the Easo terminal into a normal metro stop.
COMSA forms part of the Joint Venture that is executing the first section of the two that make up the project. This section, from Lugaritz to Miraconcha, has a length of 2,140 metres of which 1,260 have already been excavated. Amongst the work to be carried out over the next few months, the excavation of the line tunnel in the Lugaritz direction, where the branch will join the line currently in service and the concrete cladding of the tubes and cavern are of particular relevance.
The Lugaritz-Easo branch has a length of 4.2 kilometres and will have three new stations: Bentaberri-Antiguo, Centro-La Concha and Easo-Amara. All of these will have a modern, functional style, following the design implemented in Intxaurrondo and Altza.
