With the aim of maximising the academic world’s interest in railway-related issues, COMSA EMTE is opening up a call for submissions for the Railway Prize for yet another year, its eleventh edition. The call for submissions is open to all university students in any country who are doing studies in the field of railways. The submission period will be open until 28 September 2012.
Similar to past years, the prize considers two study categories: Doctoral Thesis (PhD) and Final undergraduate Project, endowed with 5000 and 1500 euros, respectively. Works shall be classified in the Doctoral Thesis (PhD) category that are done in this field or may be deemed assimilable due to their relevance or scope. In turn, degree dissertations or those with analogous names shall fit in the Final Undergraduate Project category.
The Railway Prize is framed within the COMSA EMTE Classroom Project, an initiative that has been developed since the year 2000, in co-operation with the Polytechnic University of Barcelona (UPC) to support research, technology transfer and scientific-technological popularisation activities in the area of railway infraestructures and superstructures.
