06/16/2017 – COMSA and Odense Letbane have signed the contract to develop the new tramway for the Danish city of Odense. With this agreement, the construction company gains access to the country for the first time and thus extends its presence in the strategic northern European market.
COMSA will be responsible for constructing the 14 kilometres of the tramway that will join the Tarup Centre and Hjallese districts, as well as putting into operation the 26 stations that will make up the line. The contract, valued at 158 million euros, also includes the installation of the catenary, signalling works, telecommunications, a control and maintenance centre, and also the tests before the service starts operating.
The signing of the contract, which took place last Wednesday in Odense, was attended by Jorge Miarnau, president of COMSA Corporación, Pedro Miguel Rivero, Group Contracting Manager, and representing Odense Letbane, the president, Jesper Rasmussen, and CEO Mogens Hagelskaer. In his speech, Miarnau stressed the desire to build “a high-performance technological infrastructure with the highest quality standards” with the aim of “promoting the urban and economic development of the city by improving transport systems and the quality of life of its citizens”.
