COMSA EMTE consolidates its activity in northern Europe through its Polish and Lithuanian affiliates Trakcja PRKiI and Kauno Tiltai

The COMSA EMTE group consolidates its activity in northern Europe with new infrastructure contracts through its affiliates Trakcja PRKiI (Poland) and Kauno Tiltai (Lithuania).

The Trafikverket, the Swedish Transport Administration, has awarded a consortium lead by Kauno Tiltai the project for the improvement of national road 156, linking the towns of Skene and Skoghem. The contract, valued at three million euros, includes the road renovation, the installation of noise barriers and the construction of a pedestrian bridge, among other actions. This is the first project of COMSA EMTE in Sweden.

Presence in Lithuania, Latvia and Poland

The group has a strong presence in northern Europe, not only in Sweden. In Lithuania, Kauno Tiltai, specialising in the construction of road and rail infrastructure, is developing the Sestokai-Marijampole stretch of Rail Baltica, a project to connect Finland, the Baltic States, Eastern Europe and Central Europe by train, with the construction of two tracks of different gauge (European and Russian).

The company has also been awarded new contracts for the renovation of roads in Latvia, where it has been operating since 2012, an example being the improvement of a stretch of more than 10 kilometres of the P104 road connecting the towns of Tukums and Vitini (on the border with Lithuania), as well as urban infrastructure works in the city of Jurmala.

And outstanding among the most recent projects of the Polish company Trakcja PRKil, specialising in railway infrastructure, are the modernisation of more than 110 kilometres of railway line and catenary on the Wrocław-Skokowa section, and conservation of bridges and viaducts and other civil works, such as the construction of Żmigród station.

This extensive portfolio of projects has allowed both subsidiaries to increase turnover, one by 42% (Kauno Tiltai) and the other by 34% (Trakcja PRKil) (at the end of the third quarter of 2014).
