Yesterday took place the signing of the works contract for the new A Coruña intermodal bus station, a terminal that will be integrated in the railway station. The works, which will be carried out by the COMSA – Taboada y Ramos joint venture, include the construction of two floors with 20 regulation docks and 20 operation docks, 325 parking spaces for passengers and residents of the city, a 2,500 m2 passenger building, and the accesses and common areas of the facilities.
The new infrastructure will facilitate a fast and safe interchange between bus and train. Thus, the creation of the terminal will be developed in parallel with the need to modernise and adapt the railway station.
The event was attended by the regional delegate of the Xunta de Galicia in A Coruña, Gonzalo Trenor; the Regional Minister of Infrastructures and Mobility, Ethel Vázquez; the technical general secretary of the Regional Ministry of Infrastructures and Mobility of the Xunta de Galicia, Joaquín Macho; and the manager of the COMSA – Taboada y Ramos joint venture, Félix Gómez Fernández.
