COMSA and Nortúnel together with Campezo and Azvi have been awarded the construction of the Topo’s variant between Altza (Donostia) and Galtzaraborda (Errenteria), which will have a budget of 64.1 million euros. The works, which have a completion period of 46 months, include the construction of a new 2km long metro section, the construction of a new underground station in the centre of Pasaia, and the integration of the new line in the station of Galtzaraborda.
The new route will advance in a mine tunnel to Eskalantegi street, it will cross Pasaia in a false tunnel and will continue in a mine tunnel to Errenteria, where the tracks will start at Parke street until connecting with the existing ones. The new underground station in Pasaia will be built under the square adjacent to Gure Zamurdia street, with the access cannon on Eskalantegi street and the elevator in the square itself.
With this new Donosti Metro service, Altza, Pasaia and Galtzaraborda users will be able to benefit from travelling to the centre of the capital with a frequency of 7.5 minutes, which now only runs to Herrera station.
