COMSA completes the duplication of a new section of the BR-101 highway in Brazil

12/06/2020 – The National Department of Transportation Infrastructure of Brazil has opened to traffic 6km of double lane of the BR-101 highway in the state of Alagoas. This is the section from km 124 to km 130, executed by COMSA, which includes the viaduct that allows the connection between BR-101 and the AL-220 state highway.

The opened section is part of the work awarded to COMSA for the duplication and restoration of the 78 km of lots 4 and 5 of the federal highway BR-101, which has already 37km in service.

The intersection of the two routes was considered a critical point due to the large volume of vehicles that circulate daily in this area. With the works carried out, the safety and comfort of road users is increased.

The already operational viaduct is located at km 130 of BR-101, in the municipality of São Miguel dos Campos, which is the main link between Maceió and Arapiraca, the two largest cities in the state of Alagoas. These works are part of the highway modernization project in the northeast of the country, which connects 69 municipalities and will benefit more than 15 million people.
