COMSA has started the infrastructure and foundation works for the construction of the bridge over the Araguaia River, on the BR-080 highway, which will connect the states of Mato Grosso and Goiás in Brazil.
Due to the complexity of the project, it will be necessary to drive 424 piles, 322 of which will be driven with conventional pile drivers on the river banks. The other 102 will be taken to the Araguaia riverbed, using nautical support. After these works, the crowning of the piles will be executed, thus completing the foundation work.
BR-080 is a strategic route for Brazilian agribusiness and has great potential for tourism and transportation of goods and services in the Midwest region, as well as in the global region of the country. In this sense, the construction of the bridge over the Araguaia River will meet the growing need for transportation of people and goods in the area.
