The Regional Environmental and Public Works Department (DREAL, according to its French acronym) has awarded COMSA the contract for work to enlarge the Albi ring road, located in the Midi-Pyrénées region in southern France. The award is for Phase 3 of the project to improve the RN 88 road, which connects Toulouse and Séverac le Château, and has a lead time of 28 months.
COMSA’s work focuses on the widening of a section of the Albi ring road, performing earthwork, modifications and extensions to four engineering structures, the construction of three walls and drainage and sewage work, amongst other activities.
At the same time, the company is also responsible for development work for the RD 81 road interchange, including a screen wall to reduce traffic noise impact.
This contract strengthens COMSA presence in the French infrastructure market where, among other projects, it is performing urban development work for the largest nuclear fusion plant in the world – ITER – in Cadarache.
