On the 31st of January, the renovated Chirajara-Fundadores section of the Bogotá-Villavicencio corridor in Colombia came into service.
The works, executed by COMSA Industrial in partnership with Indra, were completed 20 months early and included the construction of a 1,960 metre tunnel, 14 road bridges, 3 pedestrian bridges and 7.4 kilometres of track.
The President of Colombia, Ivan Duque, attended the inauguration of this new section of track from Bogotá to the Eastern Plains that will allow users to save between 15 and 20 minutes’ journey time.
