EMTE, a member of the COMSA EMTE group with over 50 years experience in engineering projects, strengthens its activity in the field of mechanical installations after winning new contracts for clean rooms, air-conditioning and fire protection in Spain, France and Switzerland.
The Department of Construction and Traffic in Basel (Switzerland) has awarded a contract worth 16.4 million euros for the remodelling of the municipal theatre to the engineering company. The works, which will last for 28 months, involve the modification of electrical and fire detection installations and stage lighting control, and will be carried out with the Italian electricity company Elektronorm.
In France, EMTE will carry out the installation of the fire protection system for a regasification plant in Dunkirk. The project, valued at 2.5 million euros, includes the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the manual fire extinguishing system, pump system, fire extinguishing water tanks, recirculation system, foam generators, remote monitoring and overall centralisation, among other works.
These contracts join other important works at international level in the EMTE portfolio, such as the pharmaceutical plant in the city of Constantine (Algeria) for the Saidal group; the supply and installation of clean rooms and critical utilities in the plant belonging to Tecnoquímicas in Cali (Colombia); installation of clean rooms, critical utilities, general utilities and processing facilities for the plant of Megapharma in Montevideo (Uruguay); and the supply and installation of clean rooms, critical utilities and processing facilities for a Synthon API plant in Argentina.
New projects in Spain
At the same time, EMTE has increased its portfolio in the Spanish market with new mechanical engineering contracts for the industrial and service sectors. In this area, the company will implement a new aerosol plant for Aldo-Union Laboratories in Esplugues de Llobregat (Barcelona). Within premises with an area of 2,500 m2, it will carry out the installation of clean rooms, electricity, energy, fire protection systems and pharma fluids installation. The value of contract is 4.1 million euros.
EMTE has also signed a contract with Aena for the supply and installation of 38 autonomous air-conditioning units in terminals T1, T2 and T3 of Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas airport. These systems will maintain thermal comfort conditions and ventilation within the aircraft while they are stationary, without connection to any other system. The project, with an implementation period of 36 months, is valued at 3.1 million euros.
Along the same lines, the company has been awarded the contract for the installation of the air-conditioning system of the dry goods warehouse which distributor Mercadona has in Abrera (Barcelona), a project worth 2 million euros, and also for the Fira Reus shopping and leisure centre (Tarragona), with a total value of 1.5 million euros.
