COMSA Industrial, the engineering business of COMSA Corporación, has been awarded a contract in Colombia for the supply, installation and commissioning of the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) on the road and Operations Control Centres (OCC) of the Santana – Mocoa – Neiva project, known as Ruta al Sur.
The works, costing close to 7 million euros, are part of the Fourth Generation concession programme promoted by the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) and will be carried out on a 456-kilometre motorway, the longest project in the country.
The section of motorway on which the works will be implemented, which is essential for the movement of passengers and cargo, runs from Ecuador to the south of Colombia, crossing 16 municipalities belonging to the departments of Huila, La Bota Caucana and Putumayo.
With this new contract, COMSA Corporación consolidates its leadership and contribution to the country in the implementation of innovative technological solutions for the integral management of infrastructures.
Development of the engineering business in Colombia
COMSA Industrial is executing several engineering projects in Colombia, such as the installation, configuration, commissioning and operational support of electromechanical equipment for the Guillermo Gaviria Echeverri Tunnel project (known as the Toyo Tunnel), which will be the longest tunnel in Latin America. It is also installing ITS systems in the Mulatos tunnels of the Autopista Conexión Pacífico 2 and in the Tesalia tunnel of Pacífico 3. It is also participating in the implementation of traffic control systems in the third third third of the Bogotá-Villavicencio Corridor and in the 10-year maintenance of the ITS infrastructures in the Sinifaná and Amagá tunnels.
