On May 25th in Barcelona, COMSA EMTE participated in a conference on smart grids organized by the professional colleges of Industrial Engineering and Telecommunications of Catalonia. These colleges have created a joint working group to promote the development of intelligent networks.
The head of COMSA EMTE ‘Innovation, Energy and Facilities’ and member of the board of the Catalan Energy Efficiency Cluster, Albert Cot, participated in the conference with a presentation that introduced a ten point guide for energy efficiency. The proposals are designed to link technology to smart grids. Cot delved into the need to integrate distributed renewable energy (e.g. in buildings), automate and monitor the electricity distribution network and to provide tools for the management of private consumption and industries. These are central areas of interest for COMSA EMTE and are undertaken by diverse companies within the group.
The event was held at the headquarters of the Catalan Engineering School and also featured the participation of experts from Endesa, IREC, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, IDIADA, smartgrid.cat and Estabanell Energy.
