COMSA EMTE strengthens its position in the South American Pharma sector with its first contract in Paraguay

The engineering company of the COMSA EMTE group, through its Bio&Pharma business specialising in engineering and facilities for cleanrooms and critical areas for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector, has been awarded a contract for the supply and commissioning of critical equipment for Laboratorios Catedral in Paraguay. This is the first contract that the engineering company has won in the South American country. The contract will involve the Bio&Pharma business designing and implementing the pharmaceutical architecture, ventilation systems and distribution of purified water to the sterile and injectables areas and the liquids and semi-solids areas of the Laboratorios Catedral facilities. Valued at 6.5 million euros, the contract also includes the electrical installations and the control systems. With this new contract in Paraguay, COMSA EMTE consolidates its presence in South America in the Bio&Pharma field, with projects already under way in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Argentina; and also in Brazil through the company Bonaire, and in Mexico through the subsidiary Eolis Latin America. In addition to this, in Spain the group has won a contract for the air conditioning and automated environmental control of the quality control and testing laboratories of the Autonomous University of Madrid. It will also be implementing a turnkey project involving the adaptation and installation of cleanrooms and ventilation systems for the Institute of Parasitology of the CSIC (Council for Scientific Research). The engineering subsidiary of COMSA EMTE is participating this week in PharmaProcess, the innovation forum on pharmaceutical processes being held in the Palacio de Congresos in Barcelona. With this presence, the company will have the opportunity to show its range of engineering and installation services in the field of cleanrooms and critical areas, which includes all phases from conception to commissioning and subsequent maintenance, to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors of Europe, Africa and America.
