COMSA Corporación, through its Engineering subsidiary COMSA Industrial, has been awarded a tender in Greenland to equip the island’s three main airports with CNS navigation systems (communications, navigation and surveillance). The international tender has been promoted by the public company Ka Kalaallit Airport Holing in order to provide these systems to the airports of Nuuk, Ilulissat, and Qaqortoq. The contract, worth 8.9 million euros, establishes a completion period of 46 months and works are expected to begin in early 2022.
COMSA Industrial will equip the airports with the remote control and supervision system (RCMS), the landing systems (ILS) and distance measuring equipment (DME), the meteorology system and the runway observation system. Furthermore, the company will provide the communications equipment (VCS and radios), SAIS, tower equipment and surveillance and emergency alert systems.
The contract also provides for the services of a turnkey supply, including coordination with the company responsible for the construction of the runway, as well as civil works, tests and commissioning, spare parts supply, and factory and on-site training.
