19/02/2020 – Today, the Road, Canal and Port Engineers Association handed the San Telmo Award to COMSA as part of the construction JV for the connection of the A Coruña access dual carriageway (AC-14) to the Tercera Ronda (third ring road, the V14), recognised as the best piece of engineering work in Galicia during 2017.
Gonzalo Fernandez-Miranda, head of the Operations Department of the company’s North Division for Infrastructures, collected the prize in a ceremony that included the attendance of the president of the Regional Government of Galicia, Alberto Núñez Feijoó. The jury for the competition highlighted the technical, territorial and construction quality of the works and stressed that the infrastructure constitutes an improvement in the quality of life of the citizens, from both an environmental and economic point of view.
Following the commissioning of the AC-14 and the V14 in 2017, A Coruña has a toll-free access road that connects the city to the north-east dual carriageway, reducing journey times and decongesting the traffic on the city’s inner ring roads. It also guarantees direct access to industrial estates, transport hubs and shopping areas.
