COMSA Corporación has boosted its presence in the healthcare infrastructure sector by participating in the development of hospital projects through three of its main business areas: Construction, Industrial Engineering and Maintenance, Conservation and Services.
In the field of construction, COMSA is building the new Pediatric Cancer Centre at Sant Joan de Déu Hospital. The project includes the construction of the new building and the connecting walkway to the HSJD integrated as a façade ensemble, as well as the architectural works, finishes and furnishings.
The group is also participating in the tender for the construction of the multi-purpose buildings of the Granollers Hospital and the Parc Taulí in Sabadell, which will be carried out using industrialised procedures and Lean methodology in accordance with the requirements of the Catalan Health Service.
In the Engineering business, COMSA Industrial has recently been awarded the project for the facilities for the extension of the surgical block and the Oncology Day Hospital at the Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona.
COMSA Corporación has experience in hospital construction, where it has executed projects for the Military Hospital, Bellvitge and Manlleu, among others, as well as in facilities, having carried out work for the Hospital Comarcal del Baix Llobregat, Hospital de Mollet, Hospital de Mataró, Hospital General Universitario de Cartagena, Hospital de Mao, Hospital la Fe de Valencia, and the Clínica Quirón in Madrid and Barcelona. The group has also built several health centres in Peru, Chile and Colombia, among other countries.
Specialised maintenance
The Covid-19 pandemic has made it necessary to adapt and reform the spaces of hospitals, clinics and health centres in order to be able to attend to patients affected by the virus and continue to provide their usual service. It is in this context that COMSA Service has experienced an increase in its activity linked to works and refurbishment projects in the healthcare sector and maintenance contracts for facilities in this area.
Among other projects, the Maintenance, Conservation and Services division of COMSA Corporación is carrying out the integral maintenance of the Consorci MAR Parc Salut in Barcelona, the Fundació Hospital Esperit Sant, the Hospital General Universitario Reina Sofía in Murcia, the Instituto Valenciano Oncológico, the buildings of the Banc de Sang i Teixits de Cataluña and the Medimar, Perpetuo Socorro (Alicante) and Pardo de Aravaca (Madrid) hospitals of the Vithas Group.
COMSA Service also deals with specialised maintenance in electrical installations, air conditioning and/or electromedical equipment. In these areas, it provides its services at the Vall de Hebrón University Hospital, Bellvitge University Hospital, Tres Torres Clinic, Amposta Hospital, Sant Cugat del Vallès Hospital, the centres of the Santa Tecla health network in Tarragona and the Asepeyo centres in the Madrid region, among others.
As for the adaptation of rooms and spaces, the group is working in the Arnau de Vilanova hospital in Lleida, Dr. Trueta, Can Ruti, Bellvitge, Moisés Broggi, Verge de la Cinta, Elche, Jerez Puerta del Sur, General de Valencia and Clínica Corachan, for example.
