COMSA, in a joint venture with Inmeva Infraestructuras, has been awarded the contract for the irrigation modernisation project in the irrigation community of Ribera Alta del Porma, located in the province of León.
This important project, promoted by Itacyl, covers an area of 4,603 hectares and will benefit more than 2,804 irrigators in the municipalities of Santa Colomba de Curueño, Vegas del Condado, Valdefresno and Villaturiel.
The works focus on the modernisation of the irrigation system with an area of more than 11 hectares in Vegas del Condado. The most important actions include the installation of a filtering chamber and a supply pipe of more than 12 kilometres in its initial section, as well as the execution of a pumping station and the high and low voltage electricity supply.
This project will implement more efficient and modern irrigation systems, which will contribute to greater crop productivity, minimising water losses and favouring significant water savings. In addition, the modernisation will guarantee the availability of water, improve the quality of life of farmers and promote a more rational and responsible use of the resource.
