COMSA, together with FERGRUPO and SANJOSE, has completed the construction of the new railway section between Évora Norte and Freixo, in Portugal, which is part of the future International Southern Corridor. This project is part of the modernisation programme of the National Railway Network in Portugal and is co-financed by the European Union through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme.
The main actions carried out include the construction of a 20.5 km platform and a technical station, as well as the construction of 6 railway viaducts and various overpasses, underpasses and agricultural crossings.
These works will allow the future doubling of the track, favouring the connection between industrial and urban areas in Portugal, Spain and the rest of Europe.
The new railway link strengthens rail transport and contributes to a more efficient and sustainable infrastructure network.
