COMSA will carry out the renovation of rails on the southern and eastern sections of the Madrid Metro. The work, which will significantly reduce the number of incidents, consists of remedying defects in the guidance and running areas, which means the points of contact between the train wheels and the rail. In addition, sections near the end of their useful life will be renewed and their condition will be inspected by means of ultrasound.
Within the framework of this action, a large part of the aluminothermic welding will be replaced by electric welding, which will allow a greater degree of mechanisation.
The work will be carried out at night, guaranteeing a minimum impact for passengers and without the need to suspend service on any line.
The company is thus contributing to improving Metro de Madrid’s infrastructure, ensuring more efficient and quality public transport for all citizens.
