COMSA Corporación will execute the transformation of the old Ourense – San Francisco station into an advanced Circulation Regulation Centre (CRC), a key facility in the management of railway traffic.
The adaptation of the building will double its current surface area to 415 m², expanding and modernising the existing infrastructure, and increasing the operational capacity of the CRC from three to five circulation regulation posts, thus improving the efficiency of rail traffic management.
This new CRC in Ourense will manage 1,151 km of railway lines, covering the three track gauges present in the Spanish network. The multi-network management will also allow a more centralised and secure supervision of train traffic throughout Galicia, responding to the growth of rail traffic and improving coordination.
The project represents an important step forward in Galicia’s railway infrastructure, combining the recovery of historical heritage with the implementation of state-of-the-art technology.
