Successful completion of the first hole-through of the Amagá Tunnel in Colombia

COMSA and Nortúnel have successfully completed the excavation of the left tube of the Amagá Tunnel (Colombia), anticipating by several months the execution of the hole-through (connection of the two work fronts). The completion of the 3.6 km tunnel is a milestone in the work on the Pacifico 1 project, under concession from the National Infrastructure Agency.

The work has been supported by 1,100 workers, including heavy machinery operators, assistant operators in control and water management. This is a key project for tackling the mountainous geography of the region, which will strengthen trade, the main driver of the regional economy, reducing travel time for the inhabitants of Medellín and the southwest of the Department of Antioquia.
