Restoration of the Light Train service in Mexico City

28/01/2020 – The Mexico City Light Rail Line has re-established its service following the specialised maintenance works carried out by COMSA between the Taxqueña terminal and the Estadio Azteca station. The works, which were executed over a period of six months, consisted of major track repairs, including the replacement of 5.7 km of double track on slabs with ballasted track with rails, mono-block concrete sleepers and elastic fixings. Likewise, the necessary materials and equipment have been supplied for the corrective maintenance of the track, which will reduce the travel time from 60 to 35 minutes, allowing the trains to travel at up to 60 km/hour. At the same time, these improvement works will result in an increase in the service capacity to transport more users.
