02/10/2019 – COMSA Industrial has been awarded the first contract for the electrification of the Plasencia-Badajoz section of the Madrid-Extremadura High Speed Rail Line. As a participant in the Joint Venture also including Lantania and Sacyr-Neopul, the company will install the catenary from Plasencia to the Peñas Blancas fork, a section of 125km. This section includes the access branches to Plasencia, Cáceres and Merida and the conventional Monfragüe–Plasencia, Madrid–Valencia de Alcántara and Aljucén–Cáceres line sections.
Additionally, the project includes the electrification of the Plasencia and Cáceres stations, and the Train Stabling and Overtaking Facilities (PAET in Spanish) in the town of Aldea del Cano.
The works have an execution period of 18 months.
