Unión Fenosa Distribución awards COMSA Industrial

11/17/2017 – The company Unión Fenosa Distribución (UFD) has awarded Jonathan Berdote, operator in the Transportation and Distribution Area Centre Zone of COMSA Industrial, with the annual award granted for the best contribution in terms of Safety Improvement Action (SIA) made by a worker from across all collaborating companies.

Faced with the risk of supply hoses for equipment such as jackhammers leaving the work area and interfering with third parties passing by, Berdote devised a system to allow the retention of the feed hose with respect to the equipment that it is supplying. He proposed to place a chain attached to a retainer and a clamp between the connector and the hose itself, thus preventing it from getting loose. Berdote was presented the award by Javier Serrano, Director for Madrid of UFD, who was accompanied by Carlos Camín, Elena Pulido, Mayte Bolufer, Emilio Puelles and Eduardo Gómez, area Deputy Directors for UFD.

During 2017 COMSA Industrial has also presented a further 15 SIAs to UFD, which led to it ranking in first place among collaborating companies in terms of Positive Metrics for Health and Safety Improvement.

This award is in addition to the mention received by COMSA Industrial as Best Collaborative Company in the Field of Security in the Madrid Area in 2016 from Luis Zarauza Quirós, UFD’s Business Director of Electricity Distribution for Spain, who recognised the leadership and commitment to health and safety in the workplace of all the personnel that form the departments of Production and Prevention Management.
