05/23/2017 – COMSA Industrial’s management of safety at work has received recognition at Orange’s fourth Health and Prevention of Occupational Risks Awards. Orange praised the protection policy that the engineering company implements in its works, as well as the excellent results in the field of risk prevention brought to light by the audits on the Coordination of Business Activities.
Through the ZERO Plan, an initiative by the Prevention area of COMSA Corporación to detect and neutralise potential risk points in the day-to-day business of the different companies, the group continues to reduce the accident rates year by year. The indicators for 2016 therefore show that once again this decreasing trend has been maintained: the percentage of accidents per 100 workers decreased by 16%; the ratio of severity, or days lost per thousand hours worked, decreased by 17%; and the frequency, or number of accidents per million hours of work carried out, also decreased by 17%.
In recent years, the telecommunications business of COMSA Industrial has carried out turnkey deployment, preventive and corrective maintenance projects for Orange, as well as the expansion of national mobile network coverage, tower design, provision of broadband and the extension of the fibre optic network in cities in Andalusia, Castile and Leon, Catalonia, Galicia and Madrid, among others.
The awards ceremony, held last Tuesday in Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid), was attended by representatives from the companies collaborating with Orange and from the telecommunications sector, along with risk prevention and health associations. The director of the Orange project for COMSA Industrial, Pilar Bartolomé, collected the award on behalf of the company.
