On 17 February, Generación de Energía Sostenibles (GdES), a COMSA Corporación group company, participated in a conference in Madrid on the maintenance of renewable energy facilities. The event brought together around a hundred experts and addressed key issues for the future of the sector such as quality and internationalisation.
GdES was represented by its head of Operation and Maintenance, Manuel Chavarría, who in his talk placed particular emphasis on the problem of the short duration of contracts awarded by the owners of wind farms (usually a year), which makes it impossible for maintenance companies to recover the investment in many of the tools they use for their work.
The day was organised by the Association of Renewable Energy Maintenance Companies (AEMER), of which GdES is a member.
