Generación de Energía Sostenible (GdES), the Renewable Energy company within COMSA EMTE, has joined with eight other Spanish firms to create the Association of Renewable Energy Maintenance Companies (AEMER), an organisation created with the aim of promoting the activities of maintaining renewable energy installations and defending the rights of the companies working in the sector.
Among its objectives is the standardisation of procedures, the dissemination of good practices, the development of R&D projects, support for the internationalisation of its partners and consolidation of procedures for Health and Safety at Work. AEMER also aims to promote the quality of maintenance services with the creation of a hallmark.
The launch ceremony of the organisation took place in Madrid on 27 May, and brought together representatives from all member companies, among them Manuel Chavarría, manager of GdES. Although in its initial phase AEMER is oriented towards wind, photovoltaic and solar thermal energy, it aims to encompass all forms of renewable energy in the near future.
