Kauno Tiltai celebrates its 65th anniversary

Kauno Tiltai, a member of the COMSA EMTE group of companies operating in theBaltic States, celebrates its 65th anniversary in 2014. During this period it has participated in major transportation infrastructure projects which have been carried out in the region, becoming the leading company in its sector.

On 26 July, to mark the anniversary, Kauno Tiltai organised a commemorative day in Kaunas (Lithuania) which was attended by over 1,800 people (including public figures, customers and employees) and several awards were presented to the company and its workers for their contribution to the development of Baltic infrastructure.

Among the prominent figures who attended were the Lithuanian Minister of Transport and Communications, Rimantas Sinkevičius, senior representatives of Lithuanian Railways, the Rail Baltica project and the Lithuanian Road Administration, and the mayor of the city. The company was represented by its current board of directors, led by the president, Nerijus Eidukevičius, as well as former members of the management team.

Kauno Tiltai was founded in Kaunas in 1949 with 160 employees as a company specialising in the construction of highways and motorways.  As a result of its success it began to diversify its activities and currently carries out all kinds of infrastructure and engineering projects. Outstanding among the most recent projects are the construction of the Vilnius bypass, the reconstruction of  the Kaunas-Klaipeda (E85) motorway, and the construction of the Rail Baltica line, a European Union project to link Finland, the Baltic States and Poland, and to improve the railway connections with Central Europe
