On 4 June COMSA EMTE Medio Ambiente participated in the second edition of the Barcelona Forest Forum, an event organised by the Catalan Institute of Agrarian Studies to connect professionals, companies and institutions involved in forestry activity.
Raimon Mariné, responsible for Biomass Management in COMSA EMTE Medio Ambiente, gave a presentation detailing the company’s experience in the field of biomass and analysed the current market situation. In this regard, he highlighted the activity carried out by the Division of Engineering, Technology and Generation of COMSA EMTE Medio Ambiente at Termosolar Borges, the hybrid plant managed jointly with Abantia in Les Borges Blanques (Lleida), which supplied 90,000 tonnes of biomass in 2013.
After his presentation, Mariné participated in a round table discussion with experts from other private companies and the government, in which they discussed the impact of exports on fuel prices and the future prospects of the biomass industry in the electrical and thermal markets.
