COMSA enters Romania with two road contracts valued at 55M euros

The National Company of Motorways and National Roads in Romania (CNADNR) has awarded COMSA the construction of a stretch of the motorway between the towns of Lugoj and Deva, located in the west of Romania. This contract represents a further step by COMSA towards growth in Romania, the country where the company has already signed another contract this year with CNADNR to renew the DN66 national road between the towns of Rovinari and Bumbestijiu. Both contracts involve a turnover of 55 million euros.

Lugoj -Deva motorway

COMSA (30%) will build the stretch of motorway through a Joint Venture comprising the companies Aldesa (30%) and Teloxim (40 %). The contract, valued at a total of 129 million euros, includes the completion of the project and construction of a 21.14 kilometre section.

The lead time for the work is 30 months, of which the first six will serve to develop the design and the remaining 24 months to perform the work. The motorway will have two 3.75 meter lanes in each direction and one 2.50 meters emergency lane in each direction. The different work performed will include building of a rest area, parking, two link roads, six bridges/viaducts, seven overpasses and 12 underpasses.
