Adif’s Board of Directors has awarded COMSA EMTE a contract for the remodelling of the train station at L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona), with the aim of maximising its operating capacity and improving the facilities of one of the busiest terminals in the Barcelona commuter rail network.
The works include the modification of the set of tracks to speed up train arrival and departure operations, the adaptation and renovation of the platforms and the underpass, and the adaptation and improvement of the electrification systems and the safety and communication installations.
At the same time, the company will be responsible for improving the station’s accessibility conditions, installing lifts and escalators to facilitate the transit of disabled persons.
L’Hospitalet de Llobregat station currently has 23 tracks, serves three lines and registers a daily movement of over 500 trains, being an important gateway to Sants, Barcelona’s main rail terminal.
